| SAD Light |
[Nov. 28th, 2009|03:21 pm] |
have been doing 30 mins as soon as I wake up every morning. I have been having great days. But they were already filled with fun family acitivites. So not sure if it is the social, getting out of the house things or if the light is helping. It is hard to tell. But it is certianly not hurting so I will continue with the treatment.
I ran a race with my neices today. The Seattle Kid’s Marathon is a great event. The kids run 25 miles in the months preceding the event. In school gym class and/or at home on their own. Then the final 1.2 of the ‘marathon’ are through downtown Seattle for the race day. Saffron did this last year. I joined for the race day and cheered for her at the finish line. We also did a few training runs togetherlast year. This year both nieces trained and prepared for the event. The kids need an adult to run with them for the event. In theory one adult can run with more than one kid, but they each wanted someone to run with them. So they asked me to join them on the run this year.
Meanwhile, Brad decided to do 2 marathons this weekend. He specifically started super early for his Seattle Ghost Marathon today, hours before the actual race started. His hope was to be able to join the girls at the start line and be a partner with one of them. Adrien and I knew this was going to be very difficult for him to finish his race, drive all across town and park, then walk to the stadium. Adrien got her running gear on and called Brad to let him know that we would run with the girls and he should just meet us at the finish line. That plan worked out great.
It was very crowded and our walk breaks were mostly dictated by the slower groups of people in front of us. Saffron held my hand most of the whole race. We saved some energy to sprint to the finish. Brad was wet and cold at the finish line so I loaned him my coat. We waited and shuffled through the crowd to get our swag and shirts and headed home. A delish lunch at a mexican resturant topped off the day. |

37.7? You must be kidding me. I feel wretched, yes, but not 37.7 wretched. There must be a mistake. |

| I think you ought to know |

That I am feeling quite inordinately miserable. A simple cold should not make one feel so wretched, but it does.
Beecham's doesn't seem to make much difference, but that's because I slurp a new cup before the old cup can fade. I would probably feel a lot MORE miserable, hard as this is to imagine, if I didn't.
Water seems to help. Hot milk with honey, too. Dying is starting to look like a mildly better option than going to sleep at this point, all the same. |

| Romanian DRAGONS |
[Nov. 28th, 2009|02:07 pm] |
This was waiting for me when I got home last week: the Romaininan edition of HERE, THERE BE DRAGONS.
I used to scratch my head at Jonathan Carroll's mentions of going to Poland for book signings - but now I get it. All those Eastern European countries LOVE this stuff. A fact I and my mortgage company are very thankful for.
