I'm trying Office Outlook now, and it is messing with me in bad ways, but may be best once I get the hang of it.

I'm not a huge fan of Thunderbird, but for me it's been more stable than Eudora, and with somewhat better capabilities of resurrecting data when it fucks up. I'm sure your mileage will vary, though.

It seems like they all have issues in some areas, no perfect solution all around. I am attempting Office Outlook at the moment, but am unable to easily migrate all my files and frustrated as hell :(

I've been using TheBat for years, and I do not feel the need to change it, althought I haven't upgraded to the 4 version yet.
The last time I needed it, importing the messages from another client was pretty easy, and it has a very nice auto-backup feature.
