| Medieval Faire this Sunday |
[Sep. 29th, 2009|12:36 am] |
Time is flying by at an alarming rate...I haven't posted here about Medieval Faire at the Cloisters Museum in NYC this coming Sunday! I will be vending and attending for the first time, but have been to this beautiful place twice before and can't wait to go back. This is a free event, Sunday Oct 4 (rain date Oct 11)
Medieval Festival
can't wait to gaze at the beautiful collection at the Cloisters Museum again.
I feel like I am neglecting this journal and my blogger, spread too thin. May consolidate the two, too busy and not much to say other than life is good and I couldn't be happier. So lucky to have the friends, family and creatures that I share my days with, precious days.

Have been busy moving all Thorn jewelry over to Etsy for easier browsing. The website will still be the place for custom orders in the Catalog and Creatures section, but all one of a kind pieces will be available on Etsy only (online that is!)

Off for the next two days to NYC for a small taste of Fashion Week, will be back Thursday...!

| Italian Beauty |
[Jul. 28th, 2009|10:15 am] |

I had the pleasure of working for a lovely woman that was getting married in an Ancient little town in Italy. She ordered four custom Single Arch Window necklaces for her gorgeous bridesmaids, in amber and watery green blue... see more here!
I so wanted to hand deliver these!

| artist alert |
[Jul. 19th, 2009|10:11 pm] |
Wandering the streets of Newburyport today, I came across a very charming collection of bird paintings that I instantly fell in love with. (sorry for the shabby photo I took in the gallery!)
 From her website:
I love "birding." As a child my dad would walk with me in our yard and identify birds. I was amazed at what he knew. They are charming creatures with lots of personality. Lately, it occured to me that if birds can build nests, then they can make hats. This is the inspiration for the following series of birds. After painting each one, their personalities dictated that they should have names. - Vicki

Our wisteria has grown so much with all this rain in New England, it has 'eaten' the cheap gothic metal arbor.
Idea-searching google for "wisteria arbor", I found this amazing artist's home! Inspirational.

This morning two very nice men from the local morning news came by the studio to do a little interview for a spotlight on my town.
It will air in the region on Friday morning, and be up on the net sometime after.

Had the extreme pleasure of seeing Patrick Wolf last night...in support of his new release, The Bachelor. Fantastic fae musician and performer, I adore him.
This particular song had me in tears last night... no official video yet, but it is painfully beautiful to me. Damaris |

| PRBlade Runner ? |
[Jun. 14th, 2009|11:57 am] |
Watching the director’s cut of Blade Runner this weekend, I was struck by how much Sean Young reminded me of Janey Morris when she took her hair down. Not an exact facial match, but so similar in mood...
